I don't know, I don't know, I don't know why I do it every, every, every time There was a reason Aphrodite generally sought stallions out and avoided mares; for the most part, she just enjoyed their company more. She found them easier to get along with, despite their occasionally irritating natures and swiftly-changing attitudes. They were fickle, often desire-driven creatures; especially the young ones, and it made it easier for her to find companions. Mares were different. Had Aphrodite cared only about the friendship that another horse had to offer, she may have sought them out more often; however, she was not, and never had been, attracted to mares. She had had well-meaning friends in the past who'd thought she may be, but their endeavors to get that sort of thing to work had never ended well. In all honesty, Aphrodite preferred to be alone when the alternative was to be with someone and not feel a spark; that spark was the only thing that kept her going, prepared to find her beloved. He would take her back (he would have to take her back, surely), and she would be ready to meet him when he did, pleased to see someone that she loved once more. It had been far too long since she had gotten to spend time with him, to be with him in a way that truly mattered to her. She hoped that at some point, perhaps, she would get that again. But until that much-coveted moment, Aphrodite continued to travel, alone for the most part with a few pit-stops on the way. He wouldn't fault her for it; he knew her nature, and he loved her for it. He loved her for it, right? Sometimes there was a seed of doubt in her mind, albeit one that she always tried desperately to rid herself of, determined not to become someone who was so dependant on the love of another that she would lose herself in the process. Perhaps, however, that kind of love was exactly what Aphrodite needed. image credit; taken from herelyric credit; Sober by Demi Lovato tags; ~Luna~

[googlefont=Parisienne][googlefont=Raleway] ☽ Luna ☾ The Moon Pool was a place where equines met. That was just a fact, and Luna knew it. She would try to deny it, but recently she has been feeling a little down. She needed interactions to feel satisfied, and she needed conversations and compliments to keep her spirits high. There was a recent interact with a young filly, but she was too spirited and brash for the older mare. She preferred meeting someone more mature. Refined. Just like her. At least, that is what she wanted to believe. She just hoped she could meet someone like that today.
To her surprise and delight, there was indeed another equine at Moon Pool. She checked herself. Not sweaty from the walk, good. A vain mare, she is. Still, first impressions matter. Yes, I think I'm presentable. Only then did she ventured to approach the stranger. "Hello there!" Her tone was bright and cheery. Walking closer, she noticed it was a mare. A new friend! Well, she hoped. "Lovely day today. What brings you here?"
OOC // Luna is kinda brash and vain. Don't know if that's Aphrodite's cup of tea? xD

I don't know, I don't know, I don't know why I do it every, every, every time The voice Aphrodite heard was feminine, and she quickly bit back the flirty greeting that had instantly come to mind when she'd heard hoofsteps approaching. She didn't want to accidentally give some young mare the wrong idea; especially because she wasn't sure how that would turn out for either of them, anyway. So instead, she turned to face the newcomer, a neutral expression on her features as she did so. The mare looked younger than her and had a relatively kind tone in her voice, one that Aphrodite appreciated. Well, perhaps she could get along with this mare after all. That would, of course, depend on what sort of first impressions were made, but for the moment, it seemed like someone Aphrodite could be amused by for a short time. "Nothing in particular," She responded, remaining in her place. "And you? Is there something you're looking for here, or just admiring the view?" It was beautiful here, Aphrodite had to admit. Almost too pretty for her, though, as usual, she considered herself to be the prettiest thing there. She wasn't accustomed to having someone younger and more youthful than her around, and she would've been lying if she said there was no jealousy involved as she glanced at the other mare. Her younger days had brought about more stallions; was it possible that she was just losing her touch? Was it possible that she'd lost it already? Of course not, Aphrodite thought with a scoff. I'm being ridiculous. Still, there was that tiny flicker of doubt in the back of her mind that just couldn't seem to leave her alone, no matter how hard Aphrodite tried to rid herself of it. image credit; taken from herelyric credit; Sober by Demi Lovato ~Luna~

[googlefont=Parisienne][googlefont=Raleway] ☽ Luna ☾ Luna looked curiously at the other mare. Pretty mane and tail, shiny coat color, looked health... "You're really pretty." She commented. It was a sincere compliment, one that held no malice or ill intentions. However, her straightforward personality could potentially stir some misunderstandings, as it has so often in the past. She hoped her compliment would not be taken the wrong way, though.
"I see. I'm here for the views." The Moon Pool was beautiful at this time of day, and it was so nice and peaceful. Luna was enjoying herself, whether the other mare was or not. She was not very observant, unfortunately. Sometimes her lack of observation coupled with her brash attitude rubbed others the wrong way. "I'm Luna, by the way. What's your name?" She was feeling good today, and was truly glad to see another equine.
"So, how was your day?" She stepped closer to the pool, and dipped a hoof into it. It was nice and cool, maybe she would go for a swim. That is, if she was alone. Swimming when there was company around would not do.

I don't know, I don't know, I don't know why I do it every, every, every time Aphrodite blinked in surprise at the compliment, before letting out a short laugh. "Yes, well, I work hard to stay pretty." She wasn't old, but she was getting older, and with that in mind, it was difficult for her to maintain a youthful appearance. She'd been lucky; had her parents been anyone else, she might've appeared much older than she was, or developed different things that would keep her from being as beautiful as she knew she was. She didn't need anyone to tell her, necessarily; she could see it in their expressions when they looked at her, or hear it in their voices. It was one of Aphrodite's favorite things in the world. "The views are spectacular, aren't they?" She asked, glancing around at their surroundings. "It's such a beautiful place. We're lucky we get to see this, hm?" She was glad there were areas like this around, places that seemed to accent her own beauty with their own, not to mention being so easy on the eyes that she could stand there and just watch the scenery. Aphrodite wasn't good at standing around and doing nothing, but in this place? "Nothing" seemed to be almost all she could do, her eyes taking in everything about the beautiful area. They were lucky to be here; lucky to have this. "I was on my own for most of it, so I'd have to say not quite what I expected." Aphrodite responded, her gaze following the younger mare. "But I have to say, this lifted my spirits." Despite preferring the company of stallions, Luna seemed pleasant enough; Aphrodite supposed she could handle this. "And you? How was yours?" It was only polite; when there wasn't any pressure to flirt or compete, she could be quite pleasant. Unfortunately, that didn't happen often. ~Luna~ image credit; taken from herelyric credit; Sober by Demi Lovato

[googlefont=Parisienne][googlefont=Raleway] ☽ Luna ☾ The Moon Pool swirled and flowed quietly as the two female equines conversed. The water did look very cool and inviting...Luna was sorely tempted to go for a nice swim. Maybe afterwards, or later in the day. "I see. I'm glad that there isn't much happening these days, so I can enjoy times like these." For now, the other mare was very entertaining and friendly. She needed more friends like this.
"Must be such hard work staying pretty," the light gray mare tossed her mane back to emphasize her point. "Of course, if there's a good-looking stallion around, then I would make sure I look good. Say, have you met any handsome males around recently?" Luna leaned closer and lowered her voice, like someone plotting something. "I'm not looking for a lifelong mate or anything, at least not yet. I still have time before I want to settle down, and I want to have fun first!" Her brown eyes glowed in excitement. "Any recent ones that were fun to be around?"

I don't know, I don't know, I don't know why I do it every, every, every time "Good," Aphrodite gave the other mare a warm look, trying to appear as inviting as possible. She wasn't naturally warm and friendly to someone she couldn't get something from; whatever it was she was looking for at the time, for whatever reason, Luna seemed easy. A younger, bright-eyed mare that reminded Aphrodite of the time before she'd found her first love. A younger mare that took her back to a simple time, one where she hadn't been searching for someone that she quite possibly would never see again. She missed those days, but these, at times, were just as good. They offered her momentary security, and more often than not, good times that Aphrodite would remember for at least a few days afterward. Her question about the stallions made Aphrodite stop and think for a moment; there had been quite a few that she needed to remember, trying to think of which ones had been the most fun to be around. There was that one dark stallion, the only problem being that they hadn't exchanged names; and Aphrodite wasn't sure where to find him again. "Wolfgang was one," She remarked, at least remembering that name. "There was another, but we never exchanged names." She kept Blazing Embers' name to herself; for the moment, anyway. He wasn't looking for anything, she knew, and she didn't want the younger mare to try anything, as she had. "What about you?" Might as well see if she could get some good information, after all. ~Luna~ image credit; taken from herelyric credit; Sober by Demi Lovato

[googlefont=Parisienne][googlefont=Raleway] ☽ Luna ☾ "Who, me?" Luna gave a careless shrug. "I just recently came to this land, so I haven't met many equines yet. But back in my old home land, there were a few nice catches. All temporary, of course." She dismissed her past with a proud flick of her mane. She did not care too much about serious relationships when it came to males. In truth, it was because of her mother's unfaithful mate that made her decide that stallions were not worth investing in. At least, she has yet to meet one that could capture her interest for longer than a few days.
She listened and nodded as the mare put out those two names - she would keep those name in check. "Ooo, I see..." She felt a kindred spirit in Aphrodite, despite their various backgrounds. That is, it was her assumption that the other mare had grown up in a different background than her. "Still have plenty of time before I have to get serious, and besides, don't all males want a mare with experience?" She wiggled her hindquarters suggestively.
"But anyways, there was one that didn't even leave his name? How rude. The barest level requires a name, and he didn't even provide that? Must have been a terrible experience for you." She shook her head in sympathy. "If I ever meet him, I'll give him a piece of my mind! Hmm, what does he look like?" Obviously, Luna did not know of who the stallion was, but she was quick to jump into conclusions, and sometimes, that could get her into all types of trouble. She has yet to recognize that flaw in herself, though.
