Persephone trotted ahead on spindly legs, glancing back at her mother with a mischievous smile and a look in her dark eyes to match. "You move slower than those snails you keep going on about." The filly called out, her honeyed words dripping with the impatience of youth and a not-so-subtle sarcasm. Before much longer, Persephone doubled back and trotted behind her mother, nipping at the mare's fetlocks. Nascha's only hope was that the filly would run out of her seemingly boundless energy before much longer and stop long enough for both of them to rest. "Persephone..." Her daughter's name rolled off of her tongue with a clipped intonation that didn't even cause the smaller, duo-toned filly to blink, let alone pause.
She stopped of her own accord, hesitating just long enough to start nursing. Nascha lingered long enough to let her daughter have her fill, hissing quietly in pain as the filly made sure to clamp down. Persephone seemed to delight in tormenting her mother. Nascha supposed she got that particular trait from her father. Just thinking about the ebony stallion made her both furious and... oddly aroused. She pushed the arousal to the far reaches of her mind, however, lowering her head long enough to graze. She had put up with a lot from Persephone and having chalked it up to her penance, she only really focused on trying to teach her daughter how to not only survive but thrive... unfortunately, either the lessons had taken a little too well or the filly had gotten a double dose of her parents' worst psychological qualities.
Nascha was oddly comforted by the knowledge her daughter had gotten the best of both worlds, in terms of her appearance. Her mind could be more warped than both Xerxes and Nascha, combined, but her striking appearance would take her far. Nascha had only had humans to teach her discipline, so the maternal pull to discipline her child either wasn't there or she was choosing to ignore it. Regardless, Nascha had no inherent desire to tame her daughter. Life would handle that well enough on its own. The best tutor was the one where you were allowed to make mistakes and learn from those mistakes. If she got hurt x number of times, she would either learn on her own or she would keep getting hurt until she learned.
Around the time her daughter finally pulled away, Nascha heaved a soft sigh and lifted her head. It was around this time she started to realize they weren't alone. Bird squawked, causing a peal of laughter to slip past Persephone's lips. Before Nascha had a chance to tell her daughter to stay put, the filly was racing away to chase that damned owl around the small clearing, neck extended to nip at the fleeing owl's tail feathers. The owl finally had enough and retreated to rest on Nascha's spine, its fiery red plumage fluffed out angrily. Persephone pivoted and instead of stopping, ran full tilt into her mother's side, hoping to set the bird off balance. Nascha grunted and stumbled a little, quickly regaining herself before she had a chance to actually fall.
As punishment, Nascha reached out to give her daughter a light warning nip. "Enough, Persephone." She breathed into the filly's ear, drawing herself to her full height. Instead of the nip having its desired effect, the agitated filly reared up to carefully place her hooves on her mother's barrel as she tried once more to nip at the owl, who hopped just out of reach. "Why won't the stupid bird just go away and who even names an owl Bird? Morons, that's who." The filly looked pretty pleased with herself for the jab at her mother's expense. tag: Enchantress word count: 621 muse: quiet heart - lyoki notes: #sorrynotsorry

XERXES meet me and meet evil Silverwynne. Wind in the Willows. It was been a while. The ebony beast was once again prowling the land, tainting the grounds with his dark wanderings. There was only one thing that led him here, and that was his restless prowlings. He was never one to stay still or long in one place. Nay, he was a true wanderer, leaving each place as quickly as he appeared. It was his habit, his upbringing. After all, his sire was very much the same, and others still wondered where he got his trait from. A snort made his nostrils flared. He did not particularly liked thinking about his father. The latter had left when he was young, and young Xerxes had only met him once or twice. As for his dam, she was not much better. She had left him to fend for himself at an early age, disappearing when he needed her most. In truth, it had only cemented his independence, and brought him into a state of going down the same path of his sire, albeit even more twisted and dynamic. Now he reached a bend in the river, where he continued down into the slower-moving water until its level was up to his chest. It was not a particularly deep stream, though one had to be careful of the small rocks on the bottom. He had grown up swimming in this particular place, and though he claimed he had no place to call home, this was as close to 'home' as it got. Or at least, his foalhood. One of the reasons why he liked this place so much were the weeping willows. As of late, they had been growing in abundance, and their branches and leaves grew thickly, providing a lush natural curtain that could screen any that stepped within its coverings. He himself had played hide and seek here with his shadows, and it was a favorite game of his in the past. Now, he was too old for such nonsense, but it did provide some sense of belonging, those old memories. The stallion was half-submerged in the water when he caught wind of a familiar scent. Familiar...and not alone. His nostrils flared as he tried to read more into the scent. Ah, that pretty mare from before, and with another equine in tow? He was still to far away to tell what the other scent was, but he was sure they would soon appear. Ah, now he could hear their voices. One belonging to that femme, and one much younger. He cocked his head, listening intently as their voices filtered through the thick natural screen of the willows. He waited. If they continued on their path, he would soon be able to see them—and they him. Nascha could only sigh at her daughter's harshness. Maybe it was deserved but, on the other hand, had she been anyone else, she likely would have been harsh in kind. The filly finally moved away from her mother and trotted ahead once more, pausing when she caught sight of a dark brute in the stream. She stamped her hoof in mock challenge and shook her short mane out. "If you're trying to drown yourself, there are better ways to go about it. Mama just took me from this huge beach... the old lady that ran the place was a little too nice but... that is beside the point." She hesitated but only for a moment.
By the time she had continued, there was a mischievous gleam in her eyes. "I'm pretty sure the ocean there is deep enough to end your suffering if that's what you're trying to do, old man." She shrugged a bit dismissively and dared to go into the stream, her dark eyes glittering with delight. It was around this time Nascha came around the corner. Trying to mother such a dark, spirited filly hadn't taken its toll yet. The duo-toned palomino paint still oozed confidence and vitality, despite the weariness that lurked just under the surface. Her gaze landed on the filly first.
She relinquished a breath. "Persephone, get out of the water before you lose your footing and get swept down the stream." Nascha's words were soft but firm... then her gaze landed on Xerxes. What else could go wrong? She had hoped the initial encounter would have been enough to make sure she never saw him again... apparently, such was not the case. "Have you had your fill of debauchery and lying?" She inquired, her tone clipped and unfriendly at best.
She felt ill and without knowing what it was she was doing, she muscled her way between the stallion and her daughter. He had left after the deed was done and as far as she was concerned, he had no place in their lives. The filly poked her head out from around her mother's flank and slowly blinked. Nascha had done everything on her own up until she had met Everlasting Serenade. If Xerxes thought sweet nothings would get him back in Nascha's good graces, he had another thing coming. Her nostrils flared as she glared at the stallion. The once confident filly ducked back behind her mother, slightly afraid, even if it was only because she'd never seen her mother react in such a way. tag: Enchantress word count: 422 muse: quiet heart - lyoki notes: #sorrynotsorry

XERXES meet me and meet evil He had expected to see Nascha. What he did not expect was the filly by her side. Had it been that long since he last joined with the pretty mare? It felt like only a short while ago, and apparently, their brief union had resulted in an offspring. Well, that certainly turned things around. Curiosity won him out, and he made his way to a more shallower part of the stream, getting a better look at the newcomers. His dark eyes slid over the older female. She looked just as delectable as ever, just like how he remembered it. His tongue flicked over his maw. Just seeing her brought back so many memories...and memories of how she tasted and felt under him. The filly was saying something. Her insults earned a dark chuckle from the ebony stallion. "Sweetie, there are better ways to die than simply drowning." He motioned towards her dam. "Your mother may know of those 'other ways.'" It was his way to acknowledging Nascha, though he swept his attention back to the filly. His filly. That was such an odd notion, but he could not simply dismiss her existence when she is there in the flesh and blood before him. He noted that she took more after her mother in looks, but her personality was the opposite. Strikingly similar to his own, but still with her own type of flair. "'Persephone' is it?" He tossed his head towards their foal. "Sweet Nascha, you choose the most fitting name for her." However, the one he was addressing had stood in the middle, blocking the way from Xerxes to the filly. The look she gave him told him that she still loathed him. "Debauchery and lying?" He tsk'd and arched his proud crest high. "Honey, you should have known that you would bring out all those unflattering qualities from me." His tone was velvety smooth, a stark contrast from the unfriendly tone from the palomino. "Persephone..." He rolled the name off his tongue a few times. Nascha was standing protectively between the stallion and filly, and Xerxes made no move to go around her. He did, however, address the filly directly. "Persephone, do you know who I am?" There was a glint in his eye. He honestly did not care whether the younger female knew who he was or not—it was more about getting to know the youngling, whether she was truly his or not. The filly poked her head back around her mother's flank to look at the stallion curiously. "...assuming you're the one mama keeps talking about to that lead mare..." The filly paused, puffing herself out momentarily, before she made her way around her mother to examine the stallion closely. "She was always going on about how you... well... told her you would give her a home then left and something about how... she doesn't hate you but wants to. She said a lot to that old lady when she thought I was asleep... but there was a lot more she didn't say." As for who he was, Persephone only knew what she had heard in secondhand accounts and as far as she could recall, a name had never been mentioned.
Once her daughter had stopped prattling on, Nascha butted her muzzle against the filly and nudged her closer to the bank. Nascha made sure to keep her body between Xerxes and Persephone. "You lost any rights or claim you had. If she wants to associate with you when she is older, that is up to her." Naschs somehow managed to keep her voice from wavering, albeit only just barely. "But... mama..." The filly protested, stamping her hoof.
Instead of taking it well, Persephone took it as a challenge of sorts, a slight to her free will. Instead of simply accepting it, Persephone started to lash out, blunt teeth scoring her mother's duo-toned palomino pelt. It wasn't enough to draw blood, but it was certainly enough to voice her displeasure without actually voicing it. "Persephone, enough." Her tail flicked against her flank in annoyance. She knew what the filly was attempting to do but, for both of their sakes, she couldn't allow it. If she did, it would be a perfect example of insanity.
Rather than listen, the filly moved away from her mother once more, her double dose of stubbornness shining for all to see. "So, are you my papa, then?" The filly demanded, her dark eyes full of curiosity, both in regards to her question and to her sire. Rather than move towards him like she wanted, the filly held her ground. It took every ounce of energy Nascha possessed to not block Xerxes's view again. A tiny part of her wished the stallion would accept the filly, but it certainly wasn't enough for her to get her hopes up. A more cynical part of her said that Xerxes would probably walk away and Persephone would know the pain of being rejected, which... was something Nascha had been trying to avoid. tag: Enchantress word count: 429 muse: quiet heart - lyoki notes: dammit, Persephone! xD

XERXES meet me and meet evil Xerxes listened on in amusement as the young filly chattered on, spilling secrets he was sure her dam would have rather left unsaid. "Is that so?" He threw a sly wink at the older mare. It seemed like their brief night together had not only resulted in an offspring, but some lingering feelings as well. The foal he could understand, but for feelings? Pah, what use has he of those? "Just to clarify, I never said I would give her a home, as I myself have no home." The brute gave a careless shrug. That was the truth, he had been a wandering soul for as long as he had been able to live independently. There was no place he called home, no place that tied him down. He much preferred to keep it that way. "I'm open to anyone joining my ranks as my mistresses." He emphasized on the last word, almost pointedly at the mare who was blocking the way. His words were to the younger female, but his eyes were on the older one, quietly judging her reactions. He would guess that she would get mad at her daughter's exposure of her secrets, although the information was useful and incredibly revealing as to where she stood now. "You don't hate me, hmmm?" He was back to addressing Nascha, a smirk playing on his maw. He took a few steps closer, and whispered into her ear. "Is there anything else you want to tell me, darling?" His warm breath would blow across her auds, and he let his aura roll off, a slight reminiscent of their first night together. Even when Nascha butted the tattle-teller further away from him and raised objections of her own, the dark stallion's smirk never faltered. She did not contradict the filly's claims, so it must be true. "That's fine. It's your foal, after all." Unfortunately, he was also the type to not care what kind of offsprings he left behind in his long train of mistresses. To have even met one of them with their foal was a rare occurrence in itself, and to think the perlino thought he was going to steal Persephone away? That earned a chuckle from him. She really did not seem to understand him, but all the better, as he was only interested in fulfilling his physical desires. "So, are you my papa, then?"Xerxes grinned darkly. "What if I was? What do you think?" He paused for a second, awaiting her response. Seeing as the mother was standing her ground, he aimed to brush his muzzle against her neck in a seemingly-innocent move. Then he leaned close again, letting his pelt brush against hers briefly. "What a filly you raised. I'm interested in her, but I'm more interested in you right now." This was said in a low tone. "What do you say? I know how much you want me, but you just don't want to admit it." His whisper would only be heard by the older female, and there was no way the filly would have heard this small conversation. This was a matter between him and Nascha. Persephone watched her father for a moment, drawn into his dark aura like a moth to a flame, fascinated by him. She was blissfully oblivious to the fact he likely wouldn't stick around. If she had realized it, she would likely have used it as a pretense to make her mother's life hell. She didn't need a reason now, usually. "I think, if you are my papa, you're more interested in her than me and I also think she isn't worthy of your fascination." After all, her mother couldn't even come close to putting a foal in her place. Getting a little bit huffy, if only because both of her parents seemed fond of slighting her in vastly different ways, she left the area to go chase the dumb red owl, Bird, who had taken flight once Xerxes had approached... despite the bird's desire to peck out the brute's eyes.
From the moment Xerxes had first whispered in her ear, she felt what little resistance she'd managed to build quickly go out the window. Her body responded to his words of its own accord long before her mouth was able to catch up to her brain. She tried hard to stand her ground but... the stallion's heat, alone, had her thoughts and heart racing. She was put almost immediately back in that day, where she'd allowed her rapidly building pheromones to fog her mind and warp her judgment. It took her a moment longer before she was able to speak. "Regardless, you knew my circumstances and you were content to leave... the only reason I don't hate you, as I should, is because of Persephone... so, I assure you, it has less to do with you and everything to do with my daughter and if you hurt her in any way, shape or form, I will remove the part of your body that gives you such undeserved arrogance." She couldn't actually bring herself to say she didn't want him because she did and her body's wanton desires infuriated her... and confused her.
She was beyond aroused and her threat, despite what had sparked its flame, lacked the bite she was hoping for. She had meant it, though. Unfortunately, the desire that coursed through her had her resolve wavering. "What I think is that you're a jerk and no matter how badly I may or may not want you to mount me again, I..." She couldn't think past the fog in her brain long enough to form a coherent end to that line of thought. "...If I consent, I will give you two options moving forward: you become someone worthy of that little girl's admiration or you leave and don't look back... regardless of what you choose, I will allow only you to claim me physically from here on out whenever and however you desire." If nothing else, Nascha was making a deal with the devil for the sake of her daughter and no matter how much pride she had to choke on, she would bear the burden for Persephone's sake. tag: Enchantress word count: 508 muse: quiet heart - lyoki notes: kids, man, kids

XERXES meet me and meet evil The male coated in ebony had on a smirk as dark as his pelt. The filly was a smart one, she was. She was truly of his blood, with an attitude and will like his. In fact, he would venture to guess that she could potentially grow up nastier than he was. Just as well, since females did seem to have a more complicated side to them anyways. "What a tongue she has, your Persephone." He responded, though by this time the filly might have already left, chasing that bird or whatever. Come to think of it, the flying creature had looked familiar. But that was the least of his worries though, he had the mare in front of him to deal with. An old flame, one that quickly burned out but just as quickly alighted again under his touch. He could feel her body tremble at the physical contact. "Remove it then, darling," he said lazily, totally unconcerned by the threat the perlino had just uttered. "Nothing I haven't felt before, though I would suggest you enjoy it first before biting it off." If anything, he would enjoy the angsty action. His ears perked up, however, at her mention of a specific action. Interesting how she said it first. She really must had it bad for him. All the more satisfying to break afterwards. "Your words are fierce, but your body betrays you." He taunted her, and to test that theory, let his muzzle graze the edge of hers. "Why, last time wasn't enough for you?" He shook his head in mock disappointment. "And I don't care whether that filly admires me or not. She's yours, isn't she? Do you see other foals romping around me?" She was missing one crucial piece of information, and he would give it to her now. "You know, I don't often make the exception of following other's orders..." He paused a little for effect. "However, your options don't seem unreasonable. Since you want me so badly, I suppose I can spare a little time for you." He cocked his head, looking pointedly at her. Instead of feeling aroused, however, he felt his interest waning. He had only toyed a little with her, and she was suddenly acting clingy now. Giving herself to him that easily? There was no fun in that, and he would quickly lose interest in her soon enough if she kept that up. The second option seemed awfully tempting now. Though he would claim her once more before leaving for good, like she suggested. WORDS: 424 | TAG: 𝐒𝐡𝐢𝐯𝐚🌈™ | MUSIC: xNOTES: He's unpredictable *headdesk* SWANSKI[googlefont=oswald][googlefont=Allura]

She could hear the child playing in the distance and, in truth, that was what gave her courage to dare defy such a beast. "I hope you're not delusional enough to think it is because I'm actually interested in anything you have to offer. Physical arousal doesn't mean I'm not disgusted by you and your actions. Furthermore, the only reason I'm even considering giving you this incentive is because, frankly, I'm doing what any mother worth her salt would do: discarding my pride for the sake of my child's happiness... whether you stay or go is of no consequence to me but if you're going to choose to go and stay away from her, make it fast so I can begin to heal the damage you've caused by leaving." A sneer touched her lips. "I knew you wouldn't stay, but I was giving you a chance to redeem yourself... and, honestly, in the case of Persephone, I will confess I do not like being right this once." She feared how her daughter would react to such a thing, being rejected by her sire.
She had known it was going to happen. Why had she allowed it? Maybe a part of her had likened it to something akin to learning from one's mistakes. It was better that her daughter learn now than be abandoned later. "You may think yourself on top of the world but, at best, you're asinine and predictable. Persephone is special and there's a reason I've made no attempt to break her spirit: life will do that enough and when it happens, I want her to be strong enough to withstand it." If she was this strong as a youngling, she would be a force to be reckoned with when she was older.
Her sneer devolved slowly into an idle smirk. "What I offered you was naught more than bribery to sweeten the deal for you. I figured your ego would like it. Judging by your dark and coy demeanor at present, though, bribery was not enough and if you choose to stay gone and not ever cross our paths again, that would be most preferable." Her daughter may hate her for a little while but ultimately, she might understand and if she didn't, she could find her own way in life once she was old enough. "So, do what you must and/or take your leave... Just know, at the rate you're going, you'll be lucky to not die alone... You have a daughter that knows nothing of your history and adores you without even knowing you but if you're so willing to squander that, you deserve to die as alone and as miserable as you are now." She released a huff, casting a glance in the direction the bird had flown off in with her daughter in pursuit. tag: Enchantress word count: 469 muse: quiet heart - lyoki notes: haha, so is she

XERXES meet me and meet evil Xerxes cocked his head in amusement as the mare prattled on about her obvious dislike of him. He enjoyed watching her struggle, watching her battle her conflicting emotions. The stallion would stand there silently, listening to the warring words come out of that pretty mouth of hers. In truth, his stance was simple, but the mare obviously had some emotions she has yet to deal with, and it was getting more complicated the more she unloaded her thoughts on him. "Persephone is free to do and thinks whatever she likes. Even if I am her sire, you said yourself that I have no claim on her, nor do I intend to claim her." He snorted. He did not understand what was so difficult about it. "This has nothing to do about her." He shook his head. He was getting annoyed now. The female was just making this situation harder when it was really simple. That was probably one of the reasons why he never stuck with a particular one—in the end, they were all the same, and she was no exception. This encounter had only grounded his convictions that they always seek to complicate simple matters, and were nothing more than providers to physical desires and lineage bearings. "If you're trying to use her as leverage against me, think carefully again, sweetie." His voice had lowered to a rumble. "Even if I do leave, what is that to the filly? She isn't the reason why I would leave." He watched her reaction, his gaze cool and calm. His coy and flirtatious attitude had slipped away, leaving behind a cold and aloof male. Regardless of what she said now, his mind was already made up. WORDS: 284 | TAG: 𝐒𝐡𝐢𝐯𝐚🌈™ | MUSIC: xNOTES: Smh SWANSKI[googlefont=oswald][googlefont=Allura]

She wasn't affected at all by his shift in demeanor. His moods seemed to shift like the tide and she had long since braced herself for impact. She had known from the moment she'd known she was expecting that their reunion - if you could call it that - would not go well at all. Maybe she just liked punishing herself. Who was to say? "If we were the last two horses remaining, horses would go extinct... Now, instead of fighting, hold true to what you've said how many times and leave." Without word of warning, she decided to give him a nudge in the right direction by kicking him as soon as her back was towards him.
She cast a sidelong glance over her shoulder. "Unlike you, I have responsibilities and I don't walk away from them." With that, she was the first to walk away, going in search of her daughter and that damn bird. It was always something. If it wasn't the sperm donor she'd had the utter misfortune of being covered by, it was Persephone, who was already such a dark cloud for such a young age. That girl was going to rain down fire and brimstone on anyone who dared cross her and Nascha could honestly say she didn't envy them. Even so, Persephone deserved happiness... one of them did, in any case.
The filly was still chasing the bird, getting farther and farther away from her mother. She didn't seem to have a care in the world nor was she aware of her surroundings. All she knew was the bird aggravated her and because it was her mother's, it needed to be destroyed. An explosion of red plumage would likely send the proper signal! Then again, her mother was quite dense. Maybe it was because she didn't have any real wild instinct! Maybe Persephone would be nice and teach her a thing or two... and maybe the sun would rise and set in opposite directions, too, which was to say never in a million and one years!

XERXES meet me and meet evil He saw it coming, and was not thus surprised when she decided to send him off with a kick. However, instead of shying away, Xerxes took the full impact of it on his shoulder, though he had shifted his weight so it did not topple him off balance. Thanks to his Warlander heritage, his build was fairly stocky and heavy, so he did not mind taking the kick. "Are you done now?" He snorted, blowing hot air in slight annoyance. These females and their roller coaster emotions - it was no wonder he never truly settled down on any one of them. It was also a terrible series of events that cemented the idea into his mind that mares were flighty and shifty things. An unbidden sigh came from his maw. It was tiring, and draining to deal with such personalities. All he wanted was a willing body and no commitments. Was that too much to ask? Apparently so, seeing how he has yet to find the perfect femme. The dark stallion watched the mare go, his tail swishing lazily. He was tempted to call out another biting remark at her, but since she was the oen doing the leaving for him, he would allow her that little respite. Just that. The brute shook his head. They were all the same, unfortunately. However, he was in no hurry to leave. He still had his cooling bath to take.
