[googlefont=Parisienne][googlefont=Raleway] ☽ Luna ☾ Luna panted slightly as she followed a little trail up the mountain. She had been eyeing this mountain for a while; she had heard that the view from the top was beautiful and breathtaking.
Well, there was also another reason.
She was hoping that she would be able to meet another equine along the way, or maybe at the top. So far, she had only met a spirited young mare that was way too outgoing and brash for her tastes. She preferred meeting someone more...should she say, mature and refined? Just like her. After all, most who would make the trek up should be more mature. Adventurous, she could handle. Flighty, not so much.
"Almost there..." There was another benefit to this climb today, Luna realized. She really needed to lose some weight. Even though she was not round, she was certainly out of breath. This climb would be a good exercise for her. She just hoped that she looked presentable and was not overly sweaty once she reached the top. A vain mare, she is. Still, first impressions matter.

Wolfgang trotted at a smooth pace along the path. This land was new to him but the mountains were so much like home. Oh home how he missed it, but it was gone. Taken from him by a fire and the family he had shattered. The elders, his parents, cousins all lost. The family he had left he parted with on less than stellar terms. The fight with his brother still fresh and raw in his mind, but for the reason for their fight was rather dull. Raw emotions coming to a boil of the lost of the life that had been living.
Thinking about it he let out a sigh. Taking a deep breath and slowly letting it out before his gaze travelled to the view down the mountain. Coming to a stop he stood there for a while just taking in the view while just breathing. Taking a deep breath and letting it out slowly again and again the only thing that brought him out of it was the sound of someone walking. Turning his head he spotted a lovely looking mare strolling up the path and he turned to face her as well as step aside so she may pass.
”Hello m’lady I hope you are well. Pleasant view is it not?” He said politely giving a dip of his head before turning to look back at the view.

[googlefont=Parisienne][googlefont=Raleway] ☽ Luna ☾ Ah, today must be my lucky day. Luna thought as she caught sight of another equine up ahead. I hope I look all right... She quickly assessed herself. Was her coat and legs clean? Check. Was she sweaty? Just a little. Did she smell? She hoped not. Her heart jumped a little when she heard the horse speak to her. It was a stallion!
"Yes I am doing well. And you?" She walked closer, and noticed that he was not bad-looking. Her day was getting better and better. She was so caught up staring at the stud, she must have come off as too brash and bold. Which was exactly what her personality was like. As long as she did not get too worked up, she could be the life of the party.
"View? Oh yes it's a pleasant view all right." She can't be caught staring too hard. She looked away for a quick second. The place was beautiful, lush green scenery below and around them. Her eyes immediately went back to the handsome stud. "My name is Luna, and you are?" Her interest was unmistakable by the way she kept staring boldly at the stallion.

Brown eyes gazed upon the maiden for a few moment taking in her form. She was a pretty lady, simple in color but the world didn’t all have to be painted in black and white. Grey works just as well so does bay and chestnut. He knew that equines came in many different colors and sizes. Her size was nice and her skin lovely. Not all beauty was skin deep tut he knew, but a good looking mare was still nice to be around. Looking away from her again he stopped himself from staring. Surely the lady didn’t wish to be stared at. Mother would have given him an earful if she saw him drooling over a girl. A stranger at that. Still he couldn’t help it. As she spoke he allowed a smile to spread across his face.
”Doing fair enough. Last few days have been hard, but they are better now.” He said kindly as he looked at her again and gave a wink. It was a friendly yet partly teasing wink. She was free to think what she wanted of it. Looking out at the view below he could feel her watching him and at her reply about the view he couldn’t help wonder if she was taking about the land below or himself and at this he felt his face grow hot. A bit embressased he cleared his throat gently as he shifted his weight. Tossing his head he moved his mane out of his eyes. ”It is wonderful to meet a charming and beautiful young lady such as you m’lady Luna. I am Wolfgang.” His words full of graceful charm and politeness as he dipped his head in a bow to her. After a few moments he spoke again. His voice just as it was before. ”Please m’lady do you happen to know the name of this land? I am not from here, but a place that used to be like it.”

[googlefont=Parisienne][googlefont=Raleway] ☽ Luna ☾ Luna caught his longer than necessary look, and her heart jumped a little. "Am I pretty? Is that why you're staring at me?" Too late, her vain thoughts had formed and was out of her mouth before she could stop it. Not very tactful, Luna. She scolded herself in her mind, but to be honest, she did not regret it. She has always been to type to speak her mind, however bold and brash that may be.
Apparently the stallion was returning the interest, giving her that wink. She noticed it, and was immensely pleased. Even better that he seemed a little uncomfortable. When the other was shy, there Luna shines the best. "Pleased to meet you, kind sir." She also dipped her head. Upon hearing that he was new to the area, she asked him, "Really? Where did you come from?" She dared take a few steps closer to the male, carefully watching his reaction.
"This place? This is Mount Meditatio, part of the Ringed Mountains. Don't know who gave it that name or what it means." She shrugged lightly, continuing with her flirting. "If only I knew such handsome studs as yourself come here, I would have visited this place moons ago." She had on a coy expression, pulling together all her charm and good features for this moment.

Why was he so bashful all of a sudden? He never really had a problem flirting before, though that was in a herd where he had known basically all of the ladies since birth. So perhaps it was because he was comfortable with them? Not that being around the new lady was uncomfortable. At her question he felt his face become hot and nodded his head. “I apologize for staring at m'lady, but yes you are very beautiful.” It wasn’t a lie. He was being open and honest with his words. Never the one to lie unless it was needed and right now it wasn’t. “Where I come from a lady of single color such as yourself is a rare sight. There are those in the browns and red hues sure, but none so pale they’d rival the moon.” Okay there were those flirty vibes again starting to return with more ease to him. His voice was soft and calm like a gentle friend as he spoke them to her. Her voice was even pretty to his ears as she spoke, but as she asked where he came from a small frown crossed his lips and he sucked in a breath. “I come from a land off some ways away. At least five full moons away, in a valley that has now been burned to ash. Before the fire it was a lovely pine forest, with the prettiest waterfall. At night when the sun went away and the moon came out the rays would shine down into the water that flowed from the pond at the bottom and it would glow against the stones maybe it appear that the stars above had came down from the heavens to glimmer and dance with us, the Crystal Falls Herd.” At the end when he said the name of the herd he became a little more proud and less sad. Still there was a lingering sadness in his voice knowing it was all gone now. Going quiet after he explained where he came from he listened to her again and couldn’t help but let out a chuckle. “Oh m’lady you are too kind. I am nothing special, not from where I come from at least. My older brother Shipwreck now he is much better looking than I. He was even next in line to take over the herd, and I was supposed to be his beta though I suppose with the family land gone none of that matters now.” He said his voice was still jolly from his laugh. One eye opened as he looked at her then back to the land around them. Slowly opening his other eye he smiled as he replied one more time. “In truth m’lady this is my first time here I came up here to get a better view of the land below, but it was the view before me that took my breath away.” Saying those words he looked back at the mare and gave her a smile. [googlefont=Parisienne][googlefont=Raleway] ☽ Luna ☾ "Why, thank you." Luna was very pleased at the acknowledgment of her beauty. She knew she had it, and was not afraid to flaunt it. "You have pretty eyes, you know," she commented, "and I've always adored strong studs like you." In truth, she very much liked the male's form and pelt colors. It was totally her style. His voice was also warm and soothing. Even better was his shyness that she picked up. However, when she had asked about his home place, he had frowned, and she tensed for a second, afraid that she had offended him or something.
"I see. So from a far country then." She took a step closer to the Gypsy Vanner. "You describe it so well, makes me want to go there myself and see it!" She angled her head to the side, bringing attention to her elegant and velvety smooth neck. "Well, those who think your brother is better looking than you clearly do not have eyes." This light gray mare was not one to mince words, be they in hostility or flirting.
His response had made the warmth in her chest blossom. "Is that so?" She lowered her eyelashes, though still maintaining the eye contact. "That sounds a little familiar," she said teasingly. "But I'll accept the compliment, you smooth talker." Regardless, he pleased her well, and she is enjoying his company more than she lets on.

This mare was oh so very pretty, but he was finding his feelings a little mixed. Sure she had a good look to her, but she seemed to know it and that was okay. There was just something that wasn’t sitting right with him and in all honesty it could have been that he just wasn’t used to talking to females not within the herd he had been born into. Strangers made him a tad nervous. Still he had been raised to one day be his brother’s beta he could handle this. Swallowing softly Wolf smiled warmly to the mare as she spoke. She liked his eyes too and called him strong. Well he was strong, he had to be. ”Why thank you. It is either be strong or be killed after all.” He said proudly. Possibly coming off as a bit cocky, but he wasn’t messing around with his words.
Going silent again he listened to her once more and nodded when she said so a far country. ”Indeed.” The word slipped from his lips smoothly. Then his smile turned into a bit of a frown. ”I wish you could see it, but sadly there is nothing left of it. A fire has completely ruined it and stole many lives with it.” Looking away from her he looked at his hooves. Eyes closed and went completely silent for a moment as he remembered it before speaking again in a soft voice. ”It took away many lives of those I cared for, as well as stole away a promised future of being my brother’s beta.” He held sadness in his words as he spoke before he opened his eyes once more and looked over at the mare. ”Though I suppose no one can honestly promise the future.”
Blushing he looked away from grew even more nervous, feeling like he had become a broken record or something. ”Sorry. I was told once to telling ladies something nice about them every time you talk to them.” He was embarrassed as he peeked at her over his shoulder. His gaze was mostly looking out at the land before them. This place really was amazing to look at. If his homeland hadn’t caught fire he would have never found this place. Hell if he hadn’t fought with his brother who knows if he would have found this place. Fate really was a tricky little devil.

[googlefont=Parisienne][googlefont=Raleway] ☽ Luna ☾ "I see." Luna did not mind his cocky words. After all, she was not bashful when it came to her own strengths. "'Or be killed'? That sounds dreadful!" She had not had that experience before, having to fight for her life. The biggest fight she has ever been in was when she was a filly, fighting against another filly over a misunderstanding about a colt in question. But fighting for her life? No, she could not fully understand the weight of those words, but still tried anyways.
What she did understand was loss, especially when he mentioned his family and the bright future he had before tragedy struck. She, too, had gone through the sorrow of a promised future being taken away from her. However, it was something she did not like talking about. She always tried to push it down whenever those memories and thoughts resurfaced, and even now, she tried to suppress them, not wanting to fall into a bleak and sad countenance. Not today.
"I see... It must have been really hard for you," she said with feeling. She could relate to his comment about the future not being secure. "Wise words. If only we knew about that truth when we were younger, then maybe we wouldn't be so hurt." She did not elaborate on her own story, but only nodded her head in understanding.
The mare was glad when the stallion changed the subject to something lighter. It was too beautiful of a day and place to be talking about sad things in the past. "Oh? Is that right?" Her coy smile was back. It was obvious that he was embarrassed, seeing the way he did not directly meet her eye contact. "I mean, you already did. But," she lowered her voice until it was husky and flirty, "I won't mind hearing more." Now emboldened, she walked past him, and gave him a slight brush on the rump with her muzzle as she passed. She wanted to see how he would react to her physical contact. She had always found it adorable when males are flustered by a female's touch, and wondered if this stallion would react in the same way.
