The mare strolled at a slow trot through the forest. Her ears perked upon her head as she looked at the land with wonder in her eyes. This place was rather interesting looking and had brought out the filly in her. The tall trees drew her closer to them and she couldn't help but wonder why. Not really why she was drawn here, but why they grew in such away. As she stepped closer the mare rubbed the side of her neck against the bark and it felt nice. Pulling away she noticed a butterfly flutter by and she smiled. It flew around before landing on her nose tickling it which made her giggle. "Hello little butterfly. Have you come to play?" She cooed as she snorted softly and tossed her head. This scent the butterfly off her nose and back into the air were it then decided to land on her head. "Ok if you a sure you may stay." She added cheerfully. To anyone wondering by she might have sounded as if she was going mad, or as if she was giving them permission to stay. As if anyone needed permission to stay in this land. Surely no one had tried to claim such a breathtaking place. WORDS: 209 TAG: Open

[attr="class","letgo"] [attr="class","text"] A golden-hued femme made her slow and careful way along the path to the Temple, her neck outstretched. Her nose was cautiously sniffing and sweeping the area before her to make sure she does not run into anything. Even though this area was not a new place for her, the last time she was here was when she still had her vision. It was safe to say that she has forgotten many of the details of this place. All she remembered was a stream nearby...and a stone structure that one could climb up on. Though she has gotten fairly comfortable in her dark world, it was still better to be careful. After all, who knew what kind of equines she would meet? Especially when the last encounter at the Moon Pool had shaken her... Oh? What is that? Her sensitive auds had picked up faint sounds of a nicker, of a voice speaking somewhere up ahead. It did not sound like a threatening voice, and seemed quite soft. She hesitated. She was still slightly jarred by the last ungulate she met, she did not feel ready yet to meet someone else. However, a part of her still longed for companionship, even though she may pass off as a bitter and angry mare. Besides, she was fairly certain that the other equine had already seen her, since the distance was not that far. With a small sigh, she continued on her unhurried amble, closer towards the voice she had heard earlier. Enjoying the moment Carrot closer her eyes while she listened to the sounds around her. This land was wonderful and quiet. The older mare did enjoy the quiet, but she missed the litter patter of hooves and the hum of chatter. The memories of her family warmed her heart as well as brought sadness to it. It was at that moment she heard something and opened her eyes to see a golden mare nearby. Smiling she looked at the girl and softly spoke with her tender grandmotherly voice. ”Hello dearie. Nice day for a stroll is it not? This butterfly and I were just enjoying the moment:” She explained with a soft giggle. Turning to face the girl properly she stepped closer to look at her face and couldn’t help but notice something strange about her eyes. Through she wouldn’t push anything about them. ”I am Carrot. Come dear won’t you join me for a trot?” She cooed in a friendly voice. Her ears perked as she waited for a reply. Looking from the young mare to the land around them she couldn’t help but let out a relaxed sigh. The Fated Lands are so wonderful. I am very glad I have lived long enough to arrive within them.” She mused aloud her voice was very content as she spoke each word. WORDS: 222 TAG: Enchantress

[attr="class","letgo"] [attr="class","text"] For once, it was a pleasant and mature voice that Starstruck heard. The Paso Fino mare hesitated, not quite sure whether to believe the warm and welcoming tone. However, it struck a chord within her. It sounded very similar to the old nurse she had many many years ago. The voice was different, but held the same gentle and matronly quality that she had so loved in her past life. Her golden head swung to where she assumed the other equine was. "I...I suppose..." She replied haltingly. "A butterfly, you say?" She was instantly taken back to fond memories when she was still a carefree filly, romping in beautiful lush meadows and chasing after butterflies. She could almost remember the light and fluttery feeling when a butterfly once landed on her nose, and how she held her breath in, afraid to breathe lest it scared the winged creature away. Fond and happy memories indeed. "A trot?" Starstruck lowered her head slightly, contemplating. So far, she has not heard anything dark or threatening from the other, and was willing to have some companionship. "I'd love to." She took a step forward. "Lead the way...ma'am." She added the last bit, not quite sure how to address the mare. Other mares were always a pleasure to be around as they seemed calmer than stallion. Watching the girl she smiled a bit softer before a frown slid on her lips hearing her question the butterfly. The creature was still on her head surely that could be seen. Unless. Well feeling a ping in her stomach Carrot took a deep breath before letting it out while she spoke. ”Yes dear. It is a rather pretty little yellow thing.” She explained as the butterfly left her head and fluttered over towards the younger mare. ”It seems like you.” She cooed as she watched it. ”I don’t mean to come off as snide dear, but can you see?” She could have kept watching and just assumed but Carrot wanted to make sure she had all the facts right. To just assume something about someone is rather rude. Waiting a few moments she moved closer to the girl before she started her slow trot with her new companion. ”You don’t have to answer of course if you don’t want to. Just an old girl wondering. I mean no offend or harm. Also please call me Carrot.” She said gently as she paused for a moment. ”Or Granny if you’re willing.” She added giving a polite giggle. Oh year she would very much love to be known as and called Granny. Even Grandmother Carrot would make her heart sing. WORDS: 234 TAG: Enchantress

[attr="class","letgo"] [attr="class","text"] Starstruck tilted her head, listening to the other mare describe the butterfly. "A yellow one?" In her mind, she could imagine it. She still remembered what colors looked like, and what most creatures were shaped like. She felt a slight flutter as the butterfly flew by her, and landed on her forehead. She froze, not daring to move. For a few moments, the butterfly waved its wings slowly, then flew off, continuing its course. "Thank you," she said softly, smiling at the quiet experience. To the inquiry, she only nodded slowly. To such a warm and gentle individual, she did not mind telling about her condition. "Yes, but I was not always that way. I don't mind it, it's just a fact." Her head hung low, but in a relaxed manner, not in malice. "There was a fight and an accident many many moons ago." She explained briefly, but did not elaborate further. Just thinking about the event still hurt, especially when the pain was not only physical. Starstruck's auds flicked forward as she followed the other mare in their slow jog. "Carrot? Granny? I think I like Granny." Her smile could be heard in her tone. This was the first time she has heard of anyone wishing to address themselves as a grandmother, and she was more than happy to comply. "I'm Starstruck. What brings you here, Granny?"[attr="class","note"] TAG: Angie | WORDS: 229 | NOTES: -- ✵ [newclass=".letgo"]width: 500px; padding: 15px 0px;border: solid 1px #fff;box-shadow: 5px 10px 20px #888888; background-color:#fff;[/newclass] [newclass=".letgo .note"]padding:15px; color:#506e93; border-top:solid 1px #fff; font-style:bold; letter-spacing:0.5px; font-family: 'georgia', bold; font-size:11px;margin-top:-20px;[/newclass] [newclass=".letgo .text"]padding: 35px; color:#444; text-align:justify; margin-top:-10px; border-top: solid 1px #fff; font-family: 'georgia', sans-serif; font-size:12px; letter-spacing: 0.25px; [/newclass] [newclass=".letgo .text b"]color:#1f5fa8;[/newclass]

Just as she thought the girl was indeed blind, but that was okay. If anything it made Carrot feel even more for her. She wanted to get close and let her know everything would be alright after listening to the story behind the reason why. Fighting was something that happened. Even so it was reckless fighting that led to such states as blinding another, or even killing another that she tried to avoid. Oftentimes she tried to keep the peace by sharing stories and attempting to calm anger with games. A good round of tag she found worked wonders to get emotions out if the chaser is to tell the one they are chasing something they dislike and like about the other, as well as the one being chased doing the same.
Walking forward she hummed softly. ”Fighting is part of life, but it is a shame when fights go too far.” She cooed softly a sad tone in her soft voice. ”Violence within the world has been the ruiner of lives, but through that pain new things blossom if given a chance.” She added her voice turning a bit more cheerful as she didn’t wish to sound so sad and full of sorrow. Fighting has made her lose those that she cared about yet life goes on and if she was going to make the time she has left in the world of the living she knew in her heart she needed to move on from her sadness. That and she didn’t want to make the young mare next to her sad or upset.
Ears flickered on her skull as her heart skipped a beat for a second hearing her call her Granny. This made her smile widely and her words that left her lips filled with joy. ”Well my dear Starstruck I have come to this land to start over. You see my mate was killed in a fight for the crown and I was cast out for being old and unwanted by the young and disrespectful brute who thought himself better just because he had stolen a life.” Her words dripped with distaste as she spoke of the one who had taken her home, but then her voice became calmer. ”So now I seek to find a place to settle down with others and have a family once more even if my children aren’t mine by blood.” Every word that slipped from her lips she meant. ”You are welcomed to be part of this family yourself my dear if you so wish.” She cooed as she looked at the younger girl.

[attr="class","letgo"] [attr="class","text"] Starstruck felt herself drawn more and more towards the warm and friendly soul. Though she could not see the figure, her ears told her plenty about the other mare. So far, it had all been positive, and she could not detect a trace of malicious intent. "I agree," she murmured, "And many times, violence springs from either misunderstanding or pride." Oh, how well she knew about that. She also felt for the other when she heard about her mate's unfortunate passing. "My mate, he...he is also dead." She said softly. Dead to her, at least. After that fight, the stallion who was to become her mate disappeared, leading her to believe that all males were manipulative brutes and were not worthy to be trusted. Of course, she was also partly at fault, as she had been a regular flirt and heart breaker herself. However, when she really did fall for one, he was the one who betrayed her. That sort of deception was unforgivable. Her paradoxical standards were truly strange, but at this point, this fae was so done with everything, she just wanted peace and quiet. Thus, it was a good thing that her new companion was female, otherwise they would not have gotten very far. Starstruck hesitated for a second at the kind mare's offer to join her family. She still had some issues on trust, especially when she had just met her. "Thank you for your kind offer. What would I need to do?" She asked. There must be something the older equine wanted in return. It was a give and take world, after all. "I'm quite useless, as you can see." Her tone was very matter of fact; she had long come to terms with her limitations, and could now state her condition without any emotion.
